HAPPY PIRATE NEW YEAR!!

For more than two years we’ve been sailing this ship from one end of the publishing world to the other. We’ve made new friends, picked up some amazing new crew members, and been fortunate to have some of the best writers in the business grace our decks.

We cannot thank you enough for your support, enthusiasm, and encouragement. And putting up with our silly games, unpredictable tangents, and occasional cranky asses.

Here’s to 2010 being the best year ever. May the words fly from our fingertips, the characters come to life on the page, and the joy of writing never go away.

Live, Laugh, and Love. And never lose touch with your inner pirate.

Amen!

I'm thinking predictions are in order.

The best of everything to y'all for 2010.

AND a belated 'Happy Birthday' to Bosun Terri.
I think it was yesterday (easy to remember!) but yesterday is a celebratory fog!

If that's mistletoe hanging from the crows nest, I'm gonna steal a hot pirate kiss to celebrate the New Year. X :D

I love the unpredictable geometry of this ship, not to mention the occasional crankiness. With Sin steering, may it last for ever.

Sin is steerin'? Lord love a duck! No wonder we spin in circles!

Predictions...hmmmm

Half of us finish first drafts
Half of us pitch and get requests
Another half of us ...

Oh, I ran out of halfs...

Fire the cannons and welcome the 2010! We got two years afore the Mayan calander spells doom fer all a' us, so I say... PARTY! Live wit' each day countin', and a toast ta writin' wit' the wind that fills the sails a' the Revenge!

I tried a Hurrican earlier this evenin'...t'wer tasty...but I want a drink ta ease inta 2010. Raise yer tankards ta the Steady Breeze, may she send us all inta adventurous waters and treasures unknown!

Happy New Year! I hope everyone had fun last night and, if you went anywhere, that you made it there and back safely.

Predictions... Hmmm...

A smattering of first drafts/new manuscripts completed.
A bunch of requests from agents/publishers.
At least one sale.

Now we've just got to get working on that.... LOL!!

It's a brand new decade. Why is that just now sinking in?

I'm going to dare to think big...new decade kind of big. I can't dare predict what next year will bring, but one word at a time for the next book, one class at a time for the college degree. It will add up to big things. Oh wait...there is that Mayan calendar thing. Darn it. Noooooo! I need more time!

Love the toast and the motto, especially the addition of "never lose touch with your inner pirate!"

Happy New Year, y'all! May only good things come your way in 2010. :)

I predict we'll finish our wonderful shitty first drafts, revise them into brilliant final drafts, send them out into the big bad publishing world, and continue writing. We will also continue to whine, complain, celebrate, laugh, and drink copious amounts of rum.

I predict we'll become even more famous this year. But that will probably be due to the matching t-shirts we'll all wear to the writing conferences.

Here's to HAPPY WRITING!

Okay, I've actually gone to the gym today (I'm making a bet with myself in order to "win" Harry Potter Audio CDs so I have to go to the gym and write more) so now I'll try to earn my writing star of the day.

I've even taken down my Christmas tree. I've nearly been productive today! This year is looking up! (Oh, and I've even farmed the pineapple at my Farm Town farm. Yes, I'm addicted.)

Hey, my first draft isn't shitty...it's just...rough! And I got my few Christmas items down today...and did some laundry. So I'm feeling pretty good about it!

I'm sitting in Atlanta waiting for my fourth and final flight of day. Running on 4 1\2 hrs sleep. Will get ho@e around midnight. The rest of thebyear has to be better than today. lol We are going to kick ass and take names thos year!!

Um, I have at least 1 shitty one, maybe two. The other one isn't shitty, I just have to make it through revisions.

Terri, don't know if you're tired or I'm tired but I didn't understand much except the for some reason you're in Atlanta. Safe travels!

Renee - Kiddo was with her dad the week after Xmas, I hate the drive so I fly to get her and fly back all in one day. Makes for a long day, but better than driving for two.

Got home about midnight last night and thought I left my phone on the plane or in the ATL airport. Freaked, called lost and found (from my car Onstar phone), then found the phone on the floor in the car. *sigh* Nothing like freaking yourself out to start the year. LOL!

Happy New Year, pirates! I'm raising a glass of champagne (or is a bucket of ale or rum around here?) to your ambitions for the year! Here's hoping everybody's on track for realizing their goals and living the dream this year!

Happy New Years, Pirates!

I've been in bed the last 3 days fighting off a nasty cold and I haven't won the battle yet. I spent NYE in bed with SEP's What I Did For Love, as my DH and kidlets texted me CONSTANTLY making sure I was alright. I guess they didn't believe me when I said I really didn't mind staying home all by myself and reading for NYE.

Happy belated Birthday, Ter!!! Sorry about your hectic day but at least you got kiddo back with you.

I'm really bad at predictions and have sworn off New Year's resolutions, but for some reason I have a good feeling about 2010. Here's to another year sailing the high seas, mateys!!!

Well, Terrio...nothin' like startin' the year off wit' a real good shot a' adrenaline! Least yer home wit' a few days ta recupe...though I got up today and wondered who was doin' the hotties... Got me Sat and Sun mixed up!

I don't so much have resolutions, other than some mild ones 'bout the house. Not goin' ta do the whole strict stuff. But declutter one room a month seems possible. Some days I'll do more, some days I'll do less. But I'll do somethin' every day. Even if it be nothin' more than gathering the trash stuff and gettin' it outta the room a' the month.

First room? The craft/office/guest room. Because I've decided I want ta try a writin' area in the house...

And I like Susan's idea of a bucket a' rum. Me DH accidentally gave away me rum sampler bought on the cruise. 8 delish flavors a' rum...gone.

*sob!

Bosun said...

He gave away the rum?! From now on, we call him Ms. Swan.

I choose to do the one day of flying over the two days of driving, so I probably shouldn't complain. :)

Irish - Sorry you're not feeling well. Though it does sound like you had the perfect night. And I still need to read that book. I actually don't own it yet! How did that happen?!

Good luck with the writing area, Chance. I've tried several times to create a writing space and always end up writing on my couch.

Well, been there, done that. Just find my normal Starbucks too busy ta work the editin'. Still hope ta work on original projects at me coffee house, but edits needs cry out fer spreadin' room, a bulletin board or the like...

Will send pics when I get it set up...
