Bailing Out

This Week Sucked

Come on, you were all thinking the same thing!

Let’s just scrape this last week off the bottom of our feet and dancing barefoot in the sand.

No television, no news, no internet. Just music, mojitos and the water. Sun dancing water. Just look at it. And let’s forget everything else…

I suffered burnout/blankout/brainfry this week.
I’m just gonna stare at the water…
Join me?

I can spend hours watching waves break on a beach and admiring the patterns and complexity visible in the surf. There is something peaceful and primal about the ocean. Takes my mind right back to evolutionary roots. Puts everything back in perspective. It looked just the same millions of years ago.

Ocean. Dude...I live in the desert.

I'm actually not paying that much attention to the news. I never do when there's a disaster/tragedy. [long rant about the crass, ratings-driven media's feeding frenzy, deleted.]

Just got back from several miles with the dog, then several more on the bike. On the Internet right now to check in on writerly folks and then going to do some writing and then some artz.

Have a happy Friday!

Enjoy the ocean, you lucky dog.

You can still stare at the photo, Pat. And it wasn't just the greater news for me this week. Just a lousy week, period.

I'm also prone to desert gazing, too. Favorite spot to desert dream? Atop El Morro in New Mexico...

I need to climb onto my elliptical. I'm dogless today, so I have no excuse not to get things done.

Save that all I want to do is stare at the pretty ocean.

I was thinking this same thing. I want a do over on this whole week. No more tornados or floods or bombings. Just the sun and sand somewhere.

XOXO Happy Friday all.

Sure. And I sure don't have to go far to see it . All I have to do is go into my basement. We had four months worth of rain in one day. Oh well at least I could handle most of it with a shop vac. See Maureen? Not everything that sucks ... ummm sucks.
Take a break have some fun tomorrow is another day.

I left the ocean and headed inland for this weekend. The news is on, but I'm ignoring it, and so is the rest of the group. My family is (almost) all gathered and hanging out. The concert is tomorrow so this weekend is nothing but fun and music and family.

Sounds like some good detox plans. Jules? Sorry about the basement!

Sorry, I just realized I took off to my cousin's house without doing a swing off the yard-arm first! But yes, this week could have been better. Glad I ended it on a much better note!! :)

We're very lucky Maureen. I was able to get the water up with a shop vac and my sump pumps never failed. many of my Neighbors have several feet of water in their basements. Trust me, we feel very thankful. We only wish that we could do more to help our neighbors out.
