You Make The Guest List

In case you haven't checked your calendar this morning, today is the first day of December.  Which means it's the first day of the last month of the year. Which also means another year is about to begin.  I realize with all the craziness of the holidays and the shopping and the baking and the party planning, no one wants to think that far ahead, but here on The Revenge, we're trying to get a head start on next year by locking in some great guests.  That's where you, dear readers, come in.

Some of the most anticipated books are hitting stores next year and we certainly start the year off with a bang.  Anna Campbell's Tempt the Devil releases in January and Anna will be paying our lowly ship a visit on January 19th to talk all about it.  And whatever other stuff we come up with for her to talk about.  We're also working on some other big names, but as those are still up in the air, they'll have to remain our little secret.

What I need from you is the name of the author (or authors) that you would LOVE to hang out with for the day.  What 2009 releases are you dying to get your hands on?  Is there a lesser known author you think deserves some ship time?  Who would you trade your rum ration to meet?  Speak now or forever hold your liquor!

PS: Don't forget we have Pamela Clare talking about her new release UNTAMED this Friday, Dec. 5th, and Christie Craig will also be hopping aboard before Christmas.  Stay tuned for more details and a date on that one.  But in the meantime, run out and pick up her latest release, DIVORCED, DESPERATE, AND DATING.  (It's frightening how much that title describes me. *sigh*)

OK, I'll put in a shout for Judi McCoy. Her newest book, Hounding the Pavement will be out in March, (I think it's March...) Anyway! It's a new mystery romance and she's donating her profits to the shelter in Utah...Friends Forever. To help take care of Michael Vick's dogs. That's worth some chatting!

Ya all know I love dogs...sigh.

And she does put a lot of time into teaching aspiring authors at the Romantic Times Convention.

I'm waiting for JR Ward's next book, Lover Enshrined. :) I also want to read Gena Showalter's The Darkest Whisper, next Sept. Give me a bit and I'm sure I'll think of some more.... Oh, Colleen Gleason's final book, As Shadows Fade, in March.

2nd - How could I forget about Judi?! She and I already talked about getting her over here. I need to send her an email. AND, this Dog Walker series has been picked up by CBS to become a TV show. How cool is that?!?!

Marn - As far as I know, Ward is one of those ungettable gets. But I bet Gena would be super fun. And we definitely need to get Colleen back. She was a great guest and this final book is in high demand.

Wow! Some great authors boarding the ship ladies.

I look forward to reading Pam and Anna's books. I've never read Christie Craig, but I'll check her out as well.

I look forward to Susan Elizabeth Phillip's release in January entitled What I did for Love. She reads a really cool excerpt from the book on her website. If you haven't heard it you might want to check it out.

I also look forward to Lisa Kleypas' next release in the Blue Eyed Devil series. It's Jack's story entitled Smooth Talking Stranger. The book is set to release in March.

Marnee, Lover Enshrined is already released. It's Phury's book. Are you thinking of Revenge's book due out in May? And have you read The Black Dagger Brotherhood Companion that was released in October? It has an excerpt in the back from Revenge's book.

I am sooooo excited about the SEP books. According to her website, two are coming out back to back. That's unheard of for SEP books. Whoot!

And I'm dying for Jack's book. Though I admit I'm really hoping Hardy shows up in the story. LOL!

Marnee Jo said...

Gah, I meant Rehvenge's story, Lover Avenged. Sheesh... Long weekend.

SEP's Glitter Baby is a release of one of her older titles, but it's one of her best:)

I want another Hardy book! I loaned out BED and SD, I so want to read them again!

And I'm really looking forward to Rehv's story. I can't resist a man with a mohawk and purple eyes. It just can't be done.

I can't wait for Naked Truth by Pamela Clare. I know she's working on it. I will use my time wisely on Friday to pump her for more information. LOL

I'm looking forward to (okay, I'm literally bouncing in my seat) for Kim Harrison's next Hollows book- White Witch, Black Curse.

And I will admit to wanting to see some Hardy in Smooth Talking Stranger.

terrio said...

A mohawk and purple eyes? K, I can't get on board with that one. But more power to ya, Sin. LOL!

Sin said...

Bah humbug- more for me then.

The book I'm currently looking forward to? TALES OF BEEDLE THE BARD. Although I'd have puppies and kittens if JK Rowling ever boarded this ship in person (*laughing like hyena at possibility*), I can't think of anyone else at the moment. I've been re-reading Harry Potter lately. And before that, JRR Tolkien. (Which I intend to read the 3rd book after I finish HP. Currently up to Goblet of Fire right now.)

I think the next book I'm looking forward to: Elizabeth Hoyt's Beguiling the Beast. I'd love to have her as a guest....

terrio said...

When does Tales come out? And I met Ms. Hoyt in San Fran. She was sooo funny. Totally sweet. I bet she might pay us a visit. Add her to the wish list!

Gotta add Tessa Dare's to this great list. When does Courtney Milan's come out?

We could never forget Tessa and Courtney. Though right now I can't remember when Courtney's hits the stores. We'll have Tessa's Trilogy (some of which I've been lucky enough to read - AWESOME!) next summer. I CANNOT WAIT!

Lisa said...

Add me to the list of wanting a piece of those purple eyes and mohawk. That man reeks of danger, and sex... *hot flash*

It's okay Marnee, I'm still recovering from the weekend eating frenzy:) I know what you mean.

Okay, I know we're talking about awesome books and authors and debuts...but can I just say?--

EVERYONE MUST GO SEE AUSTRALIA AS SOON AS PHYSICALLY POSSIBLE.

There. I said it. Hugh Jackman is enough to make you want to relocate IMMEDIATELY to the great down under. In fact, I'm looking now.

2nd Chance said...

Anybody else see Bolt yet? (If we're segua-ing inta movies...)

And how about Annette Blair? I love her whimsical books. Never Been Witched is out in February. Or Nancy Martin, new book in January. And India Ink... I guess I like the mystery romance style...ya think?

Hel, I was looking for a movie to check out...I'll see when it's playing at me local cinema.

Terrio - I been coerced...ahem, talked into, helping Judi promote the book at the RT and when she tours into my territor. There was talk of a dog costume...

terrio said...

I knew I should have gone to see one of those two. Instead, I saw Four Christmases. Don't get me wrong, it was good. But Vince Vaugne is not substitute for Hugh Jackman looking illegally HAWT!

2nd - Somehow that does NOT surprise me. LOL! Judi could sell ice to eskimos. She was brave enough to take over our conference chair title from me. Pray for her, ladies. LOL!

I can't wait to 'see' Pamela Clare on here again. I won one of her books last time she was on board and I've been hooked ever since.

I think it would be cool if you guys had Julianne MacLean and Victoria Dahl on. Elizabeth Hoyt, Gena Showalter, Meljean Brook, and Kresley cool would be cool, too. They all have books coming out in the new year that I'm dieing for.

You guys always have the best blogs.:)

Lisa said...

*sending envious daggers at Hellion*

I SO want to see Australia!

Hugh Jackman is the sexiest man alive you know:)

Want to see Four Christmases too! Glad to hear it is good.

I heard Bolt is really good:)

For anyone insterested in a funny flick with lots of guy humor-Role Models is hilarious!

terrio said...

Kelly - I'm writing all those down. And thanks for the sweet words. This one was a drop back and punt blog. I really need to write these before 11pm Sunday night. *sigh*

LOL!

Lisa - I watched a scene from Role Models on Yahoo when it first came out and it looked hysterical. Seth Green as that Amish dude was too funny.

Lisa said...

The entire movie is hysterical. I laughed so hard my stomach hurt.

Hellion said...

Seth Green as the Amish dude is from Sex Drive, not Role Models. I've been wanting to see Role Models as well, because the main guy pretty much sums up my experience with children. *LOL*

*does a little gloating dance in front of Lisa* I got to see Hugh Jackman take a soapy bath, I got to see Hugh Jackman take a soapy bath...

I was explaining that particular scene to coworkers, insisting htey need to see the movie immediately. They said, "But what's the story about?"

WTF? I just told you: Hugh Jackman takes this soapy bath and he has no shirt on. What do you mean, what's the story about? I mean, fill in the damned blanks, people. Hugh Jackman is a cowboy who loses his shirt and has to take a soapy bath--and then there are two hours of you watching a movie, daydreaming about how you can make the soapy bath a reality. That's the plot.

Seriously.

Hel - You really have your priorities straight!

Hellion said...

I hope that's put on my tombstone:

Hellion
She really had her priorities straight...everything else about her was deliciously curvy.

terrio said...

Damn it, I knew that. I have an excuse today. Not one I'm going to talk about but believe me, I have an excuse!

Can I take my kiddo to see that movie? I'm fine with her watching Hugh's soapy chest, but is there anything else she shouldn't see?

2nd Chance said...

Ooooo!! Blog topic...what do you want on your tombstone... In 7 words...let's make this tough!

Hellion said...

No, the sex scene is very...tame. You see Nicole's bare leg, some white sheets, some more Hugh Jackman chest.

The violence of the war scenes are probably more of a concern.

The themes are kinda adult. It talks about the "Lost Generations" where the "creamies" (half aboriginals) were taken by the missionaries to have the "black bred out of them"...and that whole theme is very sad.

2nd Chance said...

Hel - I tried to see Australia. I went to the theater at the appropriate time. But the paper had the starting time wrong...but another movie was starting at the right time...

I saw Bolt again.
