It's Not Always a Great Set of Pecs....

I go as weak in the knees as the next girl at a wide set of shoulders and firm, manly biceps; however, if you really want to make me swoon, have a voice to die for. Yes, Alan Rickman, I'm talking to you. If you can't find Alan Rickman or one of his movies you can fastforward to all his dialogue, you can always go here:

Here you have the option of having Joseph Fiennes (I've loved him since he played Shakespeare) and Greg Wise (I've loved him since he was Willoughby) and some other hot Brits I don't know but they make me suddenly VERY interested in the classics. It's not enough sometimes to see a still life posed picture of a man without his shirt off. I mean, sometimes it's nice, but the smooth tenor of a masculine voice reading to you, his gaze looking up now and again to see if he has your undivided attention, the scholarly fall of his hair across his brow, and the buttoned up smoothness of his clothes that makes you want to rumple him up if only he'd stop reading.

Good times.

There has been some discussion (read: whining) among the pirates about putting the hotties on hiatus (they are overcrowding the ship a tad) and doing something else with our Sundays. Perhaps have a book club once a month; maybe have a writing prompt inspiration blog; and of course, the occasional hottie of the month or something. To those of you who are ready for some change, I don't think you'll be disappointed. To those of you who are groaning that your hook up with half-naked hotties has been reduced severely, you'll get over it. It's not like we're taking them away forever.

Ah, the nice brown voice! Tom Baker and his wonderful voice! Gregory Peck... Sigh.

I found a new site going up with a hottie everyday, so I can post the link to it for those who can't live without a hottie.

And all those Geoffrey Rush pics I collected for my month of hottie postings? I'll spend the rest of the year spreading joy by using them when I post. ;-)

NICE. A hottie for everyday of the week--and someone else is doing the work. Definitely hook us pirates up, 2nd!

*LOL* That does like the best use of those pictures. Why blow them all at once when you can keep the joy going all year long?

I like the book club idea.

And I haven't read Far from the Madding Crowd but I did read Tess of the d'Urbervilles. I liked it, so maybe I'll give this one a go. I'm off to download to my Kindle. :)

I featured these lovely gentlemen on my blog a while back because I adore men's voices--even though I don't like to be read to. LOL

And yes, Alan Rickman's voice is the best. I'm all shivery just thinking of it. :)

I think the Hotties deserve a chance to get off the ship. They work SO hard. If you need a volunteer to get them settled in their new homes, let me know. I'll try to find a spot on my schedule. LOL

That's Donna, always a giver. ;)

I LOVE a man with the perfect voice. However, after years in radio, I know the man on the other end of the voice isn't always what you'd expect. LOL!

I could listen to this site all day. My new favorite words - "Are you sitting comfortably?"

They aren't up and posting everyday yet...but their intro page is loverlee...

Ooops, this is their main page!

I'm sure they wouldn't mind if we "hijacked" one of their posterboys for the ship now and then.

Donna? I said now and then!

Wow, that site looks like it's going to be fun. How do you find these things??

I think the more important question is: how long have you known about this site? LOL

Terri, I'm laughing about the men who "have a face for radio". Thanks for that reminder. :)

Okay, I've got some avoiding to get back to!

It's something I know well, Donna. Seeing as *I* have a face for radio. LOL!

I've been avoiding by napping. And now laundry is callling.

Wow, I'm dragging today. I'm glad you guys were supportive of the "Are You Sitting Comfortably?" site. (Which I agree with Bo'sun, those are my new favorite words! *LOL*)

Donna, I love you, but hands off Alan Rickman. He's MINE. You've already wandered off with Richard, so let me have one, okay? And I have my little Snape fantasies...and the Sheriff of Nottingham and Colonel Brandon...I've been invested in Alan for quite some time.

Now I need to work on tomorrow's blog. Ugh.

How did I find this thing? A pair of authors I share my agent with started this blog recently and want guests. So...I looked at it! And hope to guest there one of these days! Glad to help... ;-)
