This…or That!

Sequels make it possible for generations to bridge the gap between hotness. What one age saw as adorable and luscious…changes. And sometimes, it works and sometimes…it don’t.

Ah, the choices!

So…

James West and Artemis Gordon…the originals and the redeux. I admit, I’d have a hard time choosing Arties. James? Robert Conrad, hands down.

Not really redeux. I mean this is a small selection of available Tarzans. I could have posted somewhere around twenty. Very popular franchise! I posted the three I liked the most, honestly… I sorta find the first a bit…enticing. Though Ron Ely was the one I grew up watching on the television.

Now, they are remaking Hawaii 5-0. And I’m thrilled to report that the new McGarret will not be the same man, but his nephew, or something like that. So I don’t have to make a choice. Yeah!

And for Q – The angels. I was never a fan of the originals, to be quite honest. And adore the total absurdity of the remake… You could tell they were having fun making the movies, and I love when that comes through the screen…

What do you think? And let’s admit, there are so many remakes. The Dukes of Hazard, Starsky and Hutch…who knows who is next? Well, that is for another Sunday!

I would so pick Will Smith--he was so adorable in Wild, Wild West. *LOL*

2nd, you can have ALL the Tarzans.

Very funny bit of trivia about the Hawaii 5-0.

If I had to choose between the original Dukes of Hazzard and the newbies--I'd have to pick the original Bo Duke. John Schneider is still so amazingly hot, I still swoon at his pictures. The man ages incredibly well. And that voice. *sighs*

As for originals vs remakes in movies, I prefer the 1995 Pride & Prejudice to the 2005 one; the 1995 Sense & Sensibility to the new one; but the new Persuasion to the older one. I also prefer the Little Women with Winona Ryder to other versions (I'm in a minority here).

Great blog. Have a safe flight home, 2nd...I know you guys will be traveling.

I think women practicing martial arts is amazingly sexy!

Afraid I didn't watch 'Charlie's Angels', but it happens in some of the Bond films as well. Even Bond can't take them seriously .. until he is rubbing his jaw, lying on the floor!

Joanna Lumley as Purdy in 'New Avengers' was also good .... though everything she does is good! *swoon*

I used to enjoy Tarzan at Saturday morning matinées when I was very small .... though even then, I really went to watch Jane.

No hints of conf triumphs !?
You're a coy one Chance!

Most of the time I prefer the original, but occasionally the remake is better. I prefer Pierce Brosnan to Steve McQueen in The Thomas Crowne Affair, and Steve Martin, although not better than Spencer Tracey, made a role that belonged to an icon distinctly his own in Father of the Bride.

I agree with Hellie on Colin Firth as Darcy, but I prefer Amanda Root and Ciaran Hinds in Persuasion.

Why are the pics so small? LOL Or am I going blind?

I think I mentioned way back when I was a wee child (okay, like 4th grade), I got to see the Johnny Weismuller (Tarzan #1 up there) in person. My first celebrity encounter. LOL

I'm actually looking forward to the new Hawaii Five-O because of Scott Caan -- he doesn't usually do much for me, but in the trailers I've seen he's wicked funny, and snarky -- nothing like a smart-ass to stir me up! LOL

And I'll pick Will Smith in anything, remake or not. He's awesome.

Hellion, do you watch Leverage? John Schneider was just on there -- looking pretty good for somebody my age. LOL

Janga, I'm with you on Pierce Brosnan for Thomas Crown Affair. :)

Will Smith over Robert Conrad? Man, I thought I was finding my brain boiled! Will made the roll a joke, Robert made it classy...

Sorry the pics are so small. First time trying to double things up and got them a bit small...I'll do better next time!

I almost did the search for the Dukes of Hazard guys. And I could have done a whole lot more, but in the madness before the Nationals...this is what ya got. This or that!

Q - Dang! I should have put up Emma and Joanne! I thought about it!

Terr has some conference triumphs to report. Scapegoat was amazing... I talked wit' me agent, drank too much and cursed. A lot.

Sad to say, Ter was not impressed with the Pirates of the Caribbean ride...but then again. Nor was I. It's longer in SoCal and much less hot... But now she gets the joke with the dog...

Man, Janga! I am with you totally. Pierce and Renee were HOT!

Donna, see above regarding pic sizes. I'll get better at this!

So glad Orlanda's airport has free wifi...only two hours to my flight to Charlotte, two hours there, then on home to the left coast...

Don't worry about the pics, Chance -- I'm not very good at doing them myself. It just felt like my eyes weren't working right! LOL

And I loved Robert Conrad back in the day. :) I just love Will Smith, so I love whatever role he plays.

I can see where the POTC ride would be less impressive after seeing the movies. I got to experience it long before the movies came out, and haven't been on it since, so it may be completely different to me now.

Hope it doesn't take you forever to get home -- it sounds like it will though. Ugh!

My favorite part of Wild Wild West was the jokes, esp Will Smith's jokes. The Kenneth Braghan parts were very lampoony and I didn't care for them, but it wasn't a storyline I could take seriously anyway. *LOL* So if I saw how seriously the original was taken, I think I would have snickered myself sick.

But maybe I could understand it. When I saw the original Dukes of Hazzard, they took themselves VERY seriously. It was funny, but it was SERIOUS, too. The remake lampoons everything, which I still enjoyed, because now if I go back and watch the original, I snicker myself sick through the whole thing. I mean, really, how can you take it seriously?

I'm sure I would have been impressed by the POTC ride anyway. I was freaked out on the kiddie Hippogriff ride and the Jurassic Park water ride, even though we were perfectly safe.

Terrio wanted to ride the Dumbo ride...but the line was wa-a-a-a-a-ay too long! And we were in the 4th level of hell, heat and humidity wise...makes it hard to consider lines...

Home! Foggy! Cool! Yeah!

I'm finally home! Of course, right when it's my turn to board (around 5p) a major storm moves in. Lightening everywhere. We ended up waiting two hours for the storm to move on. Gah!

I am so excited about Hawaii 5-O. Loved that show as a child and I really like the look of the new one. Plus, those guys are really cute. ;)

Q - I am happy to report I pitched twice and got two full requests. Now I have something new to freak out about. LOL! And I love that you just swooned up there. That is so adorable.
