Sailing the Ocean Blue with a Sunday Hottie
I love extra days off of my landlubber job. Columbus day is a wonderful excuse to take off an extra day to celebrate adventurers who've dared to defy gravity and countries to explore and conquer new horizons. Brad Pitt- ala Achilles in Troy- could conquer this horizon anytime he wished.
Anyhoo...
Since most historical conquers were not HOT by any means, I'm making it up for today's hotties blog. So turn a blind eye if you must, but we're going to pretend those men who were lacking in the looks department can be replaced by Hollywood's rougher, prettier version.
So while there are quite a few conquerors throughout history, I say today we take the opportunity to give these men a fresh new face. Anyone wanna give it a shot? I'm think Gerard Butler makes number one as my favorite man to use as a historical conqueror. He'd make a kick ass Julius Caesar. He's just got that look.
And I'll give Mr. Orlando Bloom the role of recasting Christopher Columbus.
And since tomorrow is a day where someone sailed into the sunset and founded a new world, I will concede to put up Capt'n Jack. He is a legend in his own right. This is a bit how I imagine him when he's on the ship. He's kinda hot like that.

You know me, Jack can conquer me any day of the week. Columbus Day, Patriot Day, Wednesday...I'm not particular.
I might have to break out my Gladiator movies today and watch 'em. Love the blog!
I love love love that picture of Gerard Butler. I hope no one else minds seeing it because I'm guessing I'll include it when I do hotties too. :)
Great choices, girl!
Hmm, I think my vote would go see Josh Holloway (Sawyer on Lost) as a historical conqueror. I could just see him bring his bad boy/con man/reluctant hero persona to a conqueror role. But which conqueror? I don't know. Whoever it might be, I'd see him as a treasure hunter who didn't set out to be conqueror. And, of course, he loses his shirt and other clothing in the line of duty...:)
Recastin' historical personages should be a required subject fer any writer!
I vote fer Aaron Sanchez as Cortez...hot latin chef, yum.
Drool here... http://chefaaronsanchez.com/appearances.php?page_id=234
Is there a choice for all of thee above? I don't even watch Lost but I think Melissa is onto something.
The only one I can think of not mentioned yet is Viggo. How can we leave off Aragorn? I mean, he's the freaking king, right? LOL! And we can't forget Russell Crowe as the best dang Gladiator ever. IMO anyway.
Chance - Sanchez is very cute. I watch him as a judge on Chopped all the time. But I don't see him as the warrior type. Hmmmm.....
I had to add a drool worthy picture of Josh Holloway...

Marn, I literally drooled all over myself in 300.
Good suggestions! While I realize that I only touched upon the tip of the iceberg when it comes to hotties; I had completely forgotten about Russell Crowe in Gladiator - one of my fav movies. And had forgotten about Viggo in LOTR's.
MM, Sanchez.. yeah, he's got sleeves. I dig a man with ink.
Melissa, Josh Holloway is hot, hot, hot!
Hellie, I knew if I didn't post a pic of Capt'n Jack you'd have my ass tomorrow. Still on for the movie aren't we?
Sin - And he can cook!
Bo'sun - Not sure I call Cortez a warrior...but a bloodthirsty general and explorer, yup! Not sure how much actual slicin' and dicin' he did. And he's not on my list of favorite historical warriors, but he was an explorer! Maybe I should have suggested Pizzaro or Magellen (Yup, my spelling sucks, been years since I be in an actual history class!)
Still on for the movie. I have to drop my car off for inspection and maybe a miraculous figuring out of the oil problem. I'd have to get my car before 5 pm (if they fix it in one day), so I just ahve to remember to return to town to watch the movie.
I woke up this morning panicked because I thought it was Monday. This does not bode well.
