JuJuSuCh--Oh, Yeah, We're Keeping Accountable Aren't We?
You caught me. I almost forgot. Please understand my pirate boyfriend showed up, and being we're a lot like two ships passing in the night, he's a little distracting, and it was only as I was laying in bed, thinking about said pirate that I went: Shit. JuJuSuCh.
How could I have forgotten?
Ah, well, the first week is always a bit shaky, right? It's okay.
So I'll admit mine first to make you all feel better. I got about 500 words. Yes, not even 600--not even four pages; however, there were 500 more words than I had last week and I'll take them.
How are you pirates doing with your pages and word counts? Any Muses missing or are all your words flying onto the page faster than you can type them?
Me, I keep opening my WIP, staring at the blinking cursor, and then going, "Well, hell, what next?" The Muse and I are at an impasse; and I have the attention span of a gnat. It's like meditation. Just takes time. AND PRACTICE.
Need to work on the second just a little more diligently.
Hope to hear your reports are much, much better than mine.
Fess up. How goes it?

I had a good week. I got almost 5K on Book 3, but I'm also working on the proposal book and I wrote about 3K on that, so I'm at 8K for the week. Need to finish the proposal today so that's not hanging over my head, and I can concentrate on Book 3 to get it done by deadline. Which if I think about that deadline my butt puckers so I'm trying not to think about it.
I wrote just over 5k words. I wanted closer to 7k but that 5k will do. I am aiming for 20k this month so we will see.
Way to go on all the progress TEr!! And great 500 words Fran!
I have to post on my phone because comcast has jacked up our acct. They are supposed to be here this afternoon to fix it. So I am posting as anonymous.
Marn
8K for the week, Terr? That's AWESOME!! And double-writing...
You've got this shit handled....no doubt. :) No butt puckering.
Marn, YEAH on the 5K words!! Sorry to hear about the comcast problems, but hey, that means MORE WRITING, right?
Ugh. I sucked worse this week than last week.
In fact, this week went by so fast I barely got a chance to breathe.
This week goal- don't suck as much as previous weeks. Try for 1k.
This week DID fly by, Sin. It was as if I blinked and it was Friday.
Okay, not as bad as I feared. Only one page of writing, 366 words. But they are the crucial one page summary of the world and the intro to a first chapter... So, I'm not gonna moan about how pissy I did. This is further then I've gotten in months! Whoohoo!
Sin, I feel ya! *LOL* Good goal for the next week!! :)
Yeah, Mo! Way to show us how to own our success, however meager we might think it is!
Well, when you're trying to write about the commercial aspect of an alien/cat trading deal...
I only got about 1K, but that's not counting character bios which I always do early in the process. I'll do much better next week.
OK, 1130 words. Yes, just now. It's been a hectic week. I can't even take credit for character bios. My mom is taking my daughter to FL after she gets out of school tomorrow, so maybe I'll have more time to do something . At least it will be quieter around here :D Still can't believe the district is making the kids go to school for half-day on a Monday. Whoever heard of the last day of school being Monday?!
My week last week was crazy, so I got a big fat zero words. I did, however, do all sorts of interesting background research on my antagonist, which is necessary to flush out his character.
So my goal for next week is similar to Sin's. Not suck so much. 1k fresh words.
Sorry, I'm always out with Dad on Sunday nights...
Janga, congrats on the word count! And I know you'll kick butt. You're a very disciplined writer.
Ashli, oh, good, you found us again, even though we were late. *LOL* YEAH for the word count. A little over 1000 words is usually what I shoot for (assuming the week is busy and all). Don't despair--it's 1100 words you didn't have--and FOUR pages at least. :)
Hal, yeah for the research! It's always hard to classify that as "writing" isn't it when if there aren't words on the page, how is it writing? But it is. You're simmering. Your Muse is sorting out knowledge so you can pound out the pages! Great goal! Hang in there.
