Raise Your Glass, It’s a Pirate Birthday Bash!

Today we celebrate our resident bartender reaching just over the half century mark. Which, of course, makes her TWENTY-ONE IN PIRATE YEARS!

Since 2nd Chance is singlehandedly responsible for making the Silverton Set tres chic in the land of Romance (or will here very shortly), I’ve brought out all the HAWT Silverton men I could find. They’re working the room, so feel free to chat them up. Or do anything else you’re little pirate heart desires. But these are no young, foolish Hotties, so be prepared if you venture too far.

We’ve pulled out all the stops today. Fried Calamari, oysters, scallops wrapped in bacon, and jumbo shrimp surround the large Kraken ice sculpture. (I never throw a party without an ice sculpture.) Across the deck, we have a smorgasbord of cookies, candy, fudge, and pies, all homemade, of course.

No, I did not steal these from Hellie’s cookie exchange. *Bo’sun crosses her fingers behind her back* I’m offended at the insinuation!

The drink of the day, in honor of our birthday wench, is the Kraken Kahlua & Kream served up in a mirrored glass, of course. Raise your glass in one hand, your cutlass in the other, and join me in a pirate toast.

To the lass with all the class,

The wench whose never crass,

We raise our glass

At this Birthday Bash

To blow sunshine straight up her arse!

The rum is flowing, the streamers are blowing, and the candles are glowing. Pull up a hammock, grab a Hottie and join in the fun. Give us your best birthday toast for Chancy! You certainly can’t do any worse than I did. LOL! And tell us what did you bring for the birthday girl, and what would you want for your birthday if all bets were off?

PS: Check out 2nd Chance, aka Maureen O. Betita around the web here, here, and here.

Magic abounds on a Pirate ship!

Carrying my sprig of mistletoe, I just crossed the Atlantic Ocean and the Continent of America
to steal a birthday kiss and offer a toast. God it was damned cold! Chance you gotta defrost me quick.

Pirates, Please raise your glasses and join me in
a toast to the fabulous Chance:

To Chance, the siren sorceress of the Pirate Ship.
Where every mirror reveals the beauty of her thoughts.
Where every glass reflects the wisdom in her soul.
Where every bottle hides the magic of her words.
Where time is frozen ..... on year 21.

What a gal! What a Pirate! What a writer!

Bottoms up and down the hatch!

PS

Bosun, could you perhaps point me towards Helli's hidden cookie stash?
Toasts make me hungry. *grin*

Bosun said...

After Sin's sneaky attempt at gettin' by a birthday without us noticin', I couldn't let another slip through the portholes. LOL!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, DARLIN'! You've had one hell of a year and 2011 is looking even more freaking fabulous!

Bosun said...

Beautiful toast, Q! I knew you'd show me up good. Here's a whole tray of cookies just for you, with a little added shot of scotch in every one. ;)

Happy Birthday Chance! :) You make passing the half-century mark look like a breeze. I wish I had half your vive and vigor some days. :)

Have a fantastic day. Eat something sweet and do something fun. :)

Happy, happy birthday, Chance! :)

Have a happy birthday and lots of rum,
make out with the hotties and have tons of fun.
When you're the birthday girl, there's always plenty to do
I can't wait until I'm the birthday girl too!!

Donna said...

Wow, you pirates know how to throw a birthday bash! (Note to self: hire them for your birthday month next year.)

I'm glad to see the mature Hotties here (although it's a little weird since I also lusted after them when they were young. Mmm. Okay, don't want to think about how old that makes me!)

Chance, I hope you have a great birthday month. You've been working hard and you certainly deserve a grand celebration like this one. :)

Hey, I think my glass has a hole in the bottom of it. I need a refill!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, CHANCE!

An Irish Blessing -

May you live a long life
Full of gladness and health,
With a pocket full of gold
As the least of your wealth.
May the dreams you hold dearest,
Be those which come true,
The kindness you spread,
Keep returning to you.

Bosun said...

Donna - You were an infant when they were young, and you're barely 25 now. No worries. (Don't you love this "in pirate years" thing? LOL!)

What a lovely blessing, Irish. We should find that on a plaque and hang it over the bar.

Hellie - At the rate time is flying, your birthday will be here in about five minutes. LOL!

Donna said...

Terri, I LOOOOOOOVE the pirate years. LOL Means it'll be a long time before I hit 30 (again).

Bosun said...

LOL! Pirate year math puts half this crew in diapers!

Hellion said...

With my daily tantrums, me being in diapers is about accurate.

Donna said...

Let me just go on record for saying, "I will not change diapers for anyone."

I don't care HOW old/young the wearer is. LOL

All I have to say on the subject is...
That Depends! ;)

2nd Chance said...

Bo'sun, I wish I could slip through the portholes! Good living makin' that a less and less a' possibility these day!

I heard yer were a premier party planner! ;-)

2nd Chance said...

Marn - Eat somethin' sweet...ah! Like I do everyday! Hence the not fittin' through the portholes...

Thank ye! I'll have a chocolate chip cookie jus' in memory a' you!

Hel! So much perty poetry so early! I be impressed! And BTW, I scoured my crockpot cookbooks last night, still searchin' fer the hoisin pork recipe...

2nd Chance said...

Donna - Sorry, I think the kraken slipped a straw inta the bottom a' yer glass. We best be careful, he goes wild on caffeine and that kahlua could do it!

Irish! Ya sweet lass, thank ye!

2nd Chance said...

Pirate years, eh! I be usin' that ta explain me H/H vigor in the next book!

We best be cuttin' Julie off, she's already punnin'!

;-)

Julie said...

Yor gonna cut me off? Before I make me toast? PiRat!

Ahemmmm ...
If wishes were birds,
I’d wish you a flock.
If love makes you happy
Then I hope that you get some c-c-cco-CAKE!
And some love … No. Make that A Lot!

2nd Chance said...

Cake is good! So is c-c-cco!

Ok, yer back on the good stuff!

Love all me pirate lasses and lads!

Hellion said...

*LOL* Jules' poem is the best. As usual.

Hellion said...

Is it similar to this one, Chance?

# 1 boneless pork loin roast (about 3 pounds), tied
# One 10-ounce jar duck sauce or hoisin sauce (about 3/4 cup)
# 3 cloves garlic, smashed and peeled
# 2 tablespoons grated fresh ginger
# 1 tablespoon chili paste
# 1 tablespoon rice wine or rice wine vinegar
# 1 tablespoon soy sauce
# 2 teaspoons dark sesame oil
# 4 teaspoons cornstarch
# 2 scallions, white and light green parts only, thinly sliced on the diagonal
# 1/3 cup chopped cilantro

Only--use a lot more onions?? *LOL*

2nd Chance said...

That sounds right, Hel. I do add more onions, though honestly, I remember mine being simpler. Usually once a recipe goes beyond about 6 ingedients, I get lost! And my recipe called for pork ribs, country style if I recall.

Drives me nuts! I only have a dozen crock pot cookbooks! Where the frack is that recipe!?

2nd Chance said...

Thanks all for stoppin' by the Decadent site. I figure the more visits I get the more interested the public looks...maybe things will move faster!?

I can be very nieve!

Hellion said...

I have everything listed in that recipe, so no worries. Well, except the pork, which I don't like, so I'll probably do chicken thighs.

And there are worst things to be than naive. *LOL*

2nd Chance said...

And thanks for spelling it right! One of those words I can never seem to wrap up right. Like weird. Or is that wired? Or weired?

*giggle
chicken thighs

Bosun said...

Are we back to recipes again? This is probably why my stomach is growling. I'm hitting the food table.

2nd Chance said...

I have no idea why the idea of chicken thighs make me giggle...really.

No idea.

Bosun said...

Did we party so hard we took the ship down there for a while?

Actually, this is pretty quiet for a party. I love how I asked what present people would want and not one person answered. LOL!

Hellion said...

That's because we know this is a bunch of pirates and we wouldn't trust you with presents. And if we tell the pirates what we wanted, it would be just like a pirate to abscond with it!

I think I'd like a Kindle though. And I'd still sorta like an iPod. And if the no holds barred is true, I think I'd like Taylor Lautner to stroll around shirtless and bring me drinks and offer to rub my feet. I wouldn't do anything corrupt--I'd just like to look at him. He'd have to be quiet though.

2nd Chance said...

Oh! I forgot about the question... The best birthday present would be... A year of free service from a really good promotional outfit. Though I could really use a maid...

Hmmmm. House? Career? Well, if the career does well, then I can pay for a maid! So, promo outfit!

Hel, those new full color Nooks sure look nice!

Hellion said...

Yeah, but I so much rather give my money to Amazon than B&N....

I'll have to go look at the Nooks to be sure though.

Bosun said...

I'd rather give money to B&N. LOL! And I'd love to have color on my eReader. But I'll stick with my Sony, it's serving me well.

Bosun said...

We are pirates, we do not "abscond" with things. They just sort of find their way into our cabins.

You'd love kiddo's room, Taylor everywhere you look. Mostly shirtless.

I'd have to go with the housekeeper. Someone to buy groceries, cook, clean, and do laundry. That would be a dream. I need an Alice! (Let's see whose too young to get that one...)

Hellion said...

If I was going to go color--for that kind of money--I'd go with the iPad.

Is kiddo's bedroom really? Can I come over when she's on vacation? *LOL* It'll be fun sleeping in her bedroom!

I don't get the Alice one really, but I wasn't into that show. I needed a Bo Duke...actually I kinda got a Bo Duke.

Bosun said...

The iPad is like a grand. The Nook is under $200. LOL! How is that even in the same ballpark?

Yep, it is. And she has a double bed now, so you'll have more room to stretch out.

At least you know *what* show I mean. I hope.

2nd Chance said...

Ah, Alice...yeah...that would be sweet. But I still want the premium promo package.

Hellion said...

It's a story about a lovely lady, right?

Hellion said...

The iPad STARTS at $499. The color Nook is $249. And the iPad does more...

Bosun said...

Right.

2nd Chance said...

Oh, I feel so old! Brady Bunch, Hel. And Alice the maid who kept the house all sparkly!

They have Ipads down that low? I thought they were a lot more! I'm a bit anti-mac so I just can't do it!

Bosun said...

Oh. The ones we bought as door prizes for our Christmas party were like $900. I had no idea there was a version that low. But still, that's HALF the price. And your phone doesn't even do pics or texts, what the hell other features could you want?! LOL!

Hellion said...

Don't judge me. You said NO HOLDS BARRED or did you not? I don't want your crappy B&N model! It's either the Kindle or the iPad!

Bosun said...

You win, we did say dream gift.

*holds hands up in surrender and backs away*

2nd Chance said...

That is true, no holds barred. Get the priciest IPad you can find, Hel!

Hellion said...

*sulky look* I will.

Julie said...

I got my DH to look into buying an ereader ... he decided to get the Nook. Just sayin' ...

Julie said...

Ewwww ... I just got an email titled SLASH and BURN!? Was that from you, Hellion?
Uhh nope. Store sales. first they want me to be On ALERT. Then? they want me to rape & pillage? really THEY need to make up their minds! Humph ...

Hellion said...

Nook=Chevy, doesn't it?

Julie said...

Chase?

Bosun said...

I tried the Nook in the store and wasn't impressed. Didn't like the size of it or the delay in the page turning. Seems like my Sony has a larger screen. I have held the Kindle before and it's mighty nice.

Anyone know if either the Nook or the Amazon are open to loading up books bought elsewhere?

Julie said...

And Chevy? When my parents got married my dad owned a 1957 Chevrolet Bellaire with a Continental kit. When their forth child was born my mom decided that the Bellaire should be sold. Dad disagreed … but mom’s incessant insisting and sensible sensibilities won out. The car was sold for 200 bucks. Today that car is a classic. And worth quite a bit of money.
The point of the story? Some women gret so caught up in the rightness of their sensibilities they cannot recognize a classic when its sitting in front of their face.
*wicked grin*

Absolutely. Gorgeous. Car.

“ Oh look at the time! GottaGo” *Julie runs away as if the spawn of Satan is snapping at her

Julie said...

He needed the wifi and the G3 access.
And theres a trick to the page turning. You just flick your thumb. Don't wave it across the page, Terri.

Julie said...

Plus.
You cannot change the Kimble's battery yourself. It has to be sent it to the company. :(

2nd Chance said...

Another reason to stick with my sony!

Happy birthday, Chance!

May the wind be at your sails and the men at your feet.

Now that's a toast I can support! LOL!

Yes, awesome toast! Thank you!
