Why do it alone when you can do it together.

You know... blow stuff up.
A few years ago when Hells and I started working towards our writing goals together, I quickly realized she is a movie person. Hells can remember all these quotes and scenes and refer back to them when she's writing or making a point. Mr. and Mrs. Smith came out and Hells said several things about this movie, to which I ignored because I'm not much of a movie person (much like I'm not much of a suspense/mystery/horror novel reader). Finally she brought it over for me to watch. "You have to see this movie. You have to."
We watched the movie and I can see why she likes it. The quips between the heroine and hero are hilarious. The action is fantastical. It's overall a great movie and sparks a lot of writing imagination. So today, we're going to celebrate Mr. and Mrs. Smith and tell me who your favorite heroine and hero are in movie. (Doesn't matter if it's animated or regular.)

Oh...wow. I like Rick and the Librarian in The Mummy. Dang, what is her name? Evelyne!

Indy and Marion. Shrek and Fiona. Michael and Fiona... (wow, that's an interesting picture!)

Not the same Fiona, obviously!

Tony Stark and Pepper Potts? ;-)

Mmm, good question. I can never remember any names though! LOL

I like Pierce Brosnan and Rene Russo in The Thomas Crown Affair, and Will Smith and Eva Mendes in Hitch -- both of these because of the banter AND because the women don't NEED the men to be complete, etc. I'm sure there are more, but let me get another caffeine infusion first!

I'll pass on Jlie and Pitt, but here are some couples I do like--in no particular order:

Viola De Lesseps (Gwyneth Paltrow) and Will Shakespeare (Joseph Fiennes) Shakespeare in Love
Anna Scott (Julia Roberts) and William Thacker (Hugh Grant) Notting Hill
Frances 'Baby' Houseman (Jennifer Grey) and Johnny Castle (Patrick Swayze) Dirty Dancing
Buttercup(Robin Wright Penn) and Westley (Cary Elwes) The Princess Bride
Nora Charles (Myrna Loy) and Nick Charles (William Powell) The Thin Man series
Karen Sisco (Jennifer Lopez) and Jack Foley (George Clooney) Out of Sight
Scarlett O’Hara (Vivien Leigh) and Rhett Butler (Clark Gable) Gone with the Wind
Rick Blaine (Humphrey Bogart) and Ilsa Lund (Ingrid Bergman) Casablanca
Melanie Smooter (Reese Witherspoon) and Jake Perry (Josh Lucas) Sweet Home Alabama

Oh, yeah...the new Thomas Crowne Affaire...devine couple!

Nick and Nora? Yes!

Melanie and Jake? Oh, like that choice, too.

I've only seen parts of this movie but liked them all. To stick with action, there was Kathleen Turner and Michael Douglas in Romancing the Stone. Talk about banter!

I'll switch to television and go with Maddie and David from Moonlighting, and Castle and Beckett from Castle. They crack me up. And sizzle. Can't forget to mention Bones and Booth. Those two are one heck of a team.

I love love Mr and Mrs Smith. Anyone who's been in a longterm relationship can appreciate the humor.

Bond and his love interest (what's her name...) in Casino Royale. Daniel Craig... yum....

And I loved Nick and Norah....

Smith is a classic English name, but I haven't seen that movie.

Angelina Jolie looks nice. At least I think its her, but not sure with all those clothes on!

Favorite recent hero and heroines include Harrison Ford and Melanie Griffith in 'Working Girl', the ultimate secretary film.

Oh, and Julia Roberts in 'Pretty Woman' with .... what was that guy's name? ....

I think I need a drink!

I forgot I made you watch this movie. You're so gloriously uneducated when it comes to movies. It's tragic really.

Favorite couples in flicks. Well, clearly you named one of my favorites. How can you not love when he asks "how many" and he goes first thinking he's got the bigger number and she comes back with "312." "312?" he asks aghast, "how?" "Some were two at a time." *LOL*

Janga also listed some of my favorites.

I loved William Wallace and Murron from Braveheart. He had the banter, but they were so sweet.

A lot of the couples from Couples Retreat were hilarious. And spot on for neuroses.

Meg Ryan and Kevin Kline in French Kiss.

Rock Hudson and Doris Day in Pillow Talk. *LOL* If you haven't seen this, you need to.

There was also a Doris Day movie with James Garner which was hilarious...he was a doctor, but I can't remember the title.

I also love--God forgive me--The Notebook. MOVIE, not the book--because Ryan Gosling was so intense.

I love The Notebook, because of Ryan Gosling too. :)
