Hotties with the Pipes

One of the best things about this time of year is the chance to pull out all our favorite Christmas music. I don’t know about you, but you can’t beat a classic crooner for turning out the holiday cheer.

They make us sigh and swoon with the old standards, but there’s something extra special about songs like “It’s Cold Outside” with Dino trying his best to talk the lady into staying.

Or who can resist Frankie singing “The Christmas Song”?

There aren't as many crooners around today, but thankfully, I managed to find a couple Hotties who continue to keep the torch burning.

In addition to their knee-weakening voices, they’re not so bad on the eyes either. Remember to tune in all this week when we put a pirate twist on a few classic Christmas tunes. You will not want to miss these puppies.

I'm a big fan of Jethro Tull doing "Ring Out Solstice Bells" I think he's a hottie, but that's me! Check it out... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iHpfRHjzM9gAnderson

I don't know who I'm hearing at Starbucks these days, but there is one that is really nice... I'll see if I can nail down who it is when I'm there writing on Sunday and come back to share!

Merry Christmas, Pirates!!

I love Christmas music. Is there anything better than Bing Crosby's White Christmas?

I'm a Dean Martin fan. I love his voice, and his smart-ass persona. Frank? Not so much. I think he sings out of tune. LOL

When I was growing up we had the Andy Williams Christmas album, so that always has a feel-good aspect when I hear those songs.

It seems like I'm forgetting someone, but I'm still tired from working yesterday, so let me see what the caffeine will do for the brain cells. :)

Chance - You're weird. That is all.

Di - I came *this* close to adding Bing to the bunch. I think I've watched White Christmas three or four times already. LOL! That movie NEVER gets old.

Donna, I'm going to pretend you didn't say that about Frankie. But Dean holds a special place in my heart since we're from the same home town. He went to school with my grandmother and she said she never liked him because he was a womanizer. LOL! I used to whine as a child that "he could have been my grandfather!"

Andy's voice is so soothing. I have him on some Christmas stuff around this house somewhere.

Yup!

I can complain about a single picture posted today. They all make me swoon...and I'm going to ignore Donna's remark too. More Frank for me, I say.

I love Bing Crosby too--and his young pictures are pretty swoon worthy too. Those eyes. But I'm a bigger fan of Holiday Inn than White Christmas, though it's basically the same story retold. Holiday Inn is the original though.

I'm still loving the Christmas music, but then I haven't been to Starbucks, in oh, at least 6 months anyway, and I've turned my radio from my normal pop music station to a harder rock station in the mornings because the pop station was playing christmas music 24/7 and I kept oversleeping. (I find holiday music too relaxing??)

I'm very excited for this week's parodies. I know we're all going to kick ass!!

I'm not sure what Holiday Inn you watched, but the one with Bing and Fred Astaire is a totally different story than White Christmas. LOL! I love it because it's Fred. *sigh*

Michael Buble has a really awesome voice. I'm not really a fan of that kind of music, honestly, but he does have a nice voice.

Yay Christmas. :)

Love those oldie goldie classic holiday songs. I could (actually I have) listen listen to Dean, Frankie, Bing, Andy, Perry Como, and so on all day. I miss those old fashion specials that they use to do each year when I was kid.

Happy Holidays all :D

Marn - I've been following Buble for years now. I want to see him in concert so badly, but the tickets are so expensive!

Donna Ann - Thanks for stopping by and happy holidays to you too. All the specials I see these days come across as cheesy. They don't have the heart the oldies used to have.

"It was a loose remake of Holiday Inn, with a plotline again involving an inn, but otherwise different from the earlier film."

Granted, it's probably like saying "Three Men and a Baby" and "The Pacifier" are the same plot because they both have babies in them. But it did have an INN at its base, the song WHITE CHRISTMAS, *AND* BING CROSBY.

Plus when I watched this movie on TCM, the guy who introduced the movie said White Christmas was basically a remake of Holiday Inn. I'm just saying.

I prefer Fred to Danny.

It would not be Christmas in my house without Andrea Bochelli and Celine Dion singing The Prayer. I will admit Frank, Bing, and Dean add some nostalgia to the holidays.

Hey, Kathleen. Andrea Bochelli has such an amazing voice. Even when I don't know what he's saying (most of the time) I could listen for hours.
