I'm always looking for good examples of mixing the romance with the action and suspense. I tend to focus on one at a time, so in the middle of the running and shooting, they stop to have a heart-to-heart, which isn't really plausible as . . . I can't wait to read this book and see how you to did it!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-416913236621309814.post-39306966296187793572012-09-10T22:08:37.336-04:002012-09-10T22:08:37.336-04:00I think there were issues with our domain provider...I think there were issues with our domain provider and our site was down for a little while today. And that kind of luck never happens to me, so when it did, I was whirling!

I like to keep the romance at half and half, or better. And I do try to integrate the love scenes so that they are unpredictable but still believable!

G. I really enjoyed An Affair with Mr. Kennedy so I'm looking forward to this next installment.

I prefer the romance to be at least a little bit more important than the suspense. But not by much. I like some action and I like some suspense. Okay, I like a lot of both. But, I think the romance still has to be the big thing. They're so much fun and they're so well-written! A lot of what I love about your writing is simply how you worded something--or the vocabulary used. It's so much fun to read and really adds a taste of the Victorian to the story. Since I crossover several subgenres I think it takes time for readers to find me because they are coming from different subgenre categories.G. It is so tricky because in a story like this, you have to give the hero and heroine a rest, let them develop the romance, and work through their issues! I cut several scenes and cut back several others. With this kind of extended chase scene, you also have to give the reader a rest!

G. I think yours are more realistic in a sense--because nothing drags me out of a story FASTER than to be on the run for my life with these characters and the hero inexplicably STOP in the middle of the road to have a heart to heart and kisses her "just in case". I just want to shout, "Not now, Stupid! You're being SHOT AT!"

So if you're being shot at and your life is danger, I prefer the romance to take a back seat, definitely. You can catch up later...throw around some sexy quips or something, but nothing that stops you in the middle of a chase. *LOL*

I felt a bit exhausted for Rafe and Fanny, because they were literally running the whole time. I was like, "I would have been shot by now and glad of it so I could get some rest." But they kept on...and it was exciting. I *LOVED* the extras: the submersible and the land-thingie. Basically a tank but not called a tank. *LOL* AWESOME.

I think you have the perfect blend of all three: action, romance, and suspense. Such fun!Hellie Sinclairhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03933713255844695337noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-416913236621309814.post-87267798954918123922012-09-10T00:14:25.303-04:002012-09-10T00:14:25.303-04:00Oh, wow!
